I like IE9. It’s fast and clean. And compatible with pretty much everything you might run into out there. It keeps my PWs stored away, it works with my security system. Looks great, does vids great, it works. I like it. But - I do not like their frequently visited sites page.
As an author I belong to several social sites and I visit them almost daily. I also visit several blogs that deal with my books (genre specific). And then there are the writing blogs, the sales tracking sites, the sites that sell my books, a few news sites, forums, and a host of other sites that I visit on a regular basis.
Then I might be writing a book and spend three hours doing research. Once I have what I need, I’m finished with those sites.
So here’s my problem with IE9. To start with they only offer ten speed tabs (most visited sites). And those tabs change according to use. Opera has Chrome and IE9 beat with one simple thing. They call it speed dial - they let me program as many little boxes as I need and then I just click on them. Truly great. And that’s why I’m creating this post in Opera. Because my tumblr account is on my Opera speed dial.
But what I don’t like about Opera is that its really quirky. With backpage you land at one spot on the previous page that is different from where you launched from. But wait a second, it will jerk around a little before it settles. And YouTube is a pain with Opera. Vids are jerky until you click on them once to start the control. Opera seems to be constantly loading (that little circle thing) when visiting a heavy page.
Pinning is nice in IE9 but it only pins to the task bar (far as I can tell). I’d settle for links on my desktop but that doesn’t seem to work. So anyone have any ideas on how to get Opera Speed dial into IE9?
